UPDATE 2002

Double Trigger had another excellent book of mares in 2002.

He covered 76 mares and has his first 2 year old runners this year.

TRIGGER'S OFFSPRING

Here are four pictures of Trigger's foals.

Bay Colt ex. FLEETING VISION (By Vision)
Owned by Brian Hammond, FLEETING VISION won 5 times on the flat and is a 1/2 sister to Listed winner TRIGGER HAPPY and winner and Listed placed ELDORADO. This is the family that produced the first million pound winner in SNURGE.
Chesnut colt ex. TOO MAMAS (By Classic Secret)
Trained and now owned by Jack Berry, this multiple winner produced a lovely chesnut colt to be trained by son Alan. With their record with 2 year olds we hope to see him out reasonably early!
Bay Colt ex. RAISE THE DAWN
Owned by John Haydon. From a smart National Hunt family, she is the dam of Venetia Williams Talking Horse CROCKADEE.
Bay Colt ex. LAST NIGHT'S FUN (by Law Society)
Deserves a special prize. The mare had a colic operation early in her pregnancy. Incredibly both mare and foal survived and we hope he is especially lucky for John Godfrey.

DOUBLE TRIGGER'S FIRST FOAL

FLEETING VISION was a winner 5 times and is a half sister to TRIGGER HAPPY (by Ela-Mana-Mou) who won the LISTED ZETLAND STAKES at 2 and was runner-up in the Lingfield Oaks Trial (Listed) at 3.She is also a half-sister to Eldorado, a full brother to Trigger Happy, who was 2nd in the Zetland Stakes in the year that Silver Patriarch won the race. Another half-sister to Fleeting Vision, Papirusa, is also in foal to DOUBLE TRIGGER and is due in April.

These are very exciting coverings for Double Trigger (by Ela-Mana-Mou out of Solac) as the family has mated extremely well with Ela-Mana Mou. As well as TRIGGER HAPPY and ELDORADO another half-sister by Ela-Mana-Mou, FRIPPET was a good winner at Kempton in 1999. FLEETING VISION'S second dam FINLANDIA bred the first £1million winner in Snurge, who as you might have guessed is also by Ela-Mana-Mou. He won three Group 1 races - the St Leger, Gran Premio di Milano and the Rothmans International Stakes, Woodbine. He was placed in 6 other Group 1s including the Irish St Leger and the Arcde Triomphe.

TRADE DISPUTE who was winning the Hunter Chase at Catterick for the second year running is off to the Foxhunters. PATRAS who won twice in a week is going for the Coral Cup and MALE-ANA-MOU tries to pick up a £20,000 bonus by being in the first three of the Royal Sun Alliance Novices Hurdle.

Ela-Mana-Mou doesn't have many runners over the sticks, so this is clearly very encouraging for N.H. breeders supporting DOUBLE TRIGGER.

GNER NAME A TRAIN "DOUBLE TRIGGER"

After his magnificent third win in the Doncaster Cup, John McCririk commented "I've a suggestion for Great North Eastern Railways who sponsored this race for the fourth time. Why not name a locomotive after Double Trigger. I travel up and down on the GNER, terrific service, girls and boys who run that line ... CALL ONE OF YOUR ENGINES DOUBLE TRIGGER ... the public will know they are being pulled at the right time!"

Full credit to GNER they launched the train to the press the day before the Doncaster Cup. Double Trigger will keep on running on the London-Edinburgh line and it's 40 years since a train was named after a racehorse.
